He asked on top of a mountain.
She said yes.

Under the guise of a casual summer backpacking trip, Dan and Patrice drove six hours southwest of Denver for what would become a pivotal moment in their lives. Carrying overnight packs, they trekked 10 miles into the Colorado backcountry, traversing West Fork Pass through sections of thigh-high snow and gaining over 5,000 vertical feet. The element of surprise was perfectly maintained—surely, he wouldn't carry something so valuable on an adventure of this magnitude!

The max effort to reach the campsite was rewarded with the most beautiful scenery imaginable. As golden hour set the stage, Dan got down on one knee. Patrice said yes, and the two watched the sunset together—a moment in time they'll never forget.
